I guess I am naughty, because I only limit my soda intake.  I drank a can of coke zero almost everyday with my daughter.  DD is healthy and beautiful- she was over 8 pounds too.  Of course I also got kidney stones 4 weeks after DD. Probably because after WLS I had not drank soda of any type and I have a history of kidney stones.  Good job getting your water and milk in...but I would wither and die if I only drank plain water.
(I forgot to say this habit developed once cravings really started for me, usually around 20 / 25 weeks)

I have been wanting it too. I took a couple gulps the other day. It drives me crazy watching my husband drink it.

I am NOT a doctor or medical scientist yet I do not think a few sips, or even a can here or there will effect you. Some are worried about the caffeine intake, in which case you can drink caffeine free coke if you really just want the taste. Others would say the sugar substitutes in coke zero or diet coke or bad...who knows. I was on a strict no caffeine diet for most of my first trimester because it can effect progresterone levels which were low for me and I had supplements, but otherwise my doctor said soda, coffee, or tea in moderation/occassion now and then was fine.

In the past week I have had 2 small glasses of coke. I just sip it slowly just to make sure it doesn't upset my pouch because I normally don't drink anything carbonated. It was very yummy and I don't regret it! lol!!

OMG....I am craving it sooooo bad, but my OB said no aspartame and all of the diet sodas have aspartame.  At one point, Coke made a soda with Splenda, but I can't find it anymore.  I have to admit..from time to time..I break down and have a diet Pepsi.  I am drinking more water now and definitely can't tolerate milk.

I definitely know how you feel..hang in there!

I'm bad because I only drink regular coke....not very often, but aspartame makes me swell up. I don't dump and I struggle with eating enough calories---even when I'm not pregnant.

That being said....I'm full on Verner's Gingerale right now...hehe. I HATE water anyway, and lately I gag even sipping it.  A long time ago, when I was pregnant with Alex, all I could keep down was coca cola classic, turkey and mustard sandwiches(another no-no, but I didn't know that then), and sweet potatoes from a can. He weighed 10 lbs 8 oz and is as healthy as an ox..(only been sick a handful of times in his life)

I wish I could drink milk. I crave it terribly, but throw up everytime I try..

I swear to beeegiggers all these rules....some of them just freak a woman out. Like we're not worried enough.

Hugs,
Angie

I'm not even going to tell you how many caffeine free diet cokes I drink a day.  I drank them during my pregnancy with Kellen and he was a 10.5 lb baby at birth and healthy too.  I also drink a big fat Vente decaf SF Vanilla iced latte every day too....I'm struggling with water but manage to get some in.  ;-)
